Tight quality control is paramount in electronics manufacturing, especially in automotive electronics, where a single mistake can have serious consequences. In this sense, Cogiscan’s technology has been key SEM’s early detection and prevention.
The SIIX EMS Mexico team has built multiple different custom applications with Cogiscan’s Open Interface in order to improve their validation processes across all SMT lines. In case of skipped steps, or components that fail to meet the specifications, or incorrect process parameters, their team is alerted of the detected issue, and the production line can be stopped.
Precision in electronics manufacturing is essential, and SEM relies on Product Flow Controller (PFCs) to maintain that standard. These networked devices automatically stop the machine whenever a setup or process falls outside specifications, ensuring defective products never reach downstream operations. In addition, SIIX EMS Mexico uses PFCs in post-SMT stages such as conformal coating to maintain quality and collect data that supports complete traceability.
Seamless integration was also key as SEM added new machines. Cogiscan supported their team in capturing and integrating all necessary data from new equipment all while maintaining traceability without sacrificing quality.
Cogiscan's platform supports real-time feedback and validation to enable operators and managers to act swiftly and maintain responsibility. The result is that SEM has maintained and even elevated the quality of its standards, while it grows without compromising critical validation steps.
