Cogiscan to Introduce New TTC products at Productronica
28 October 2011
BROMONT, CANADA – October 28, 2011 – Cogiscan, the leading track, trace and control solutions provider for the electronics manufacturing industry, is pleased to announce the introduction of several new products at the upcoming Productronica International Trade Fair, scheduled to take place will be held November 15-18, 2011 at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre in Munich, Germany.

The new Product Flow Controller: PFC + is a complete redesign of the original PFC, which has been very successful for Cogiscan over the years. The PFC+ offers the same functionality, including the ability to stop an automated assembly line in the case of process error and to ensure a 100 percent read rate of serialized PCBs. The PFC+ is significantly smaller and less expensive than the original PFC.

Cogiscan will display its LabelScan: Automated vision system to read supplier labels, a functional prototype of the revolutionary LabelScan. This is a handheld vision system that can take a single image of all the fields on a supplier barcode label. The turnkey solution features an advanced algorithm to recognize the different fields of data and transfer this data in a suitable format to any application used for receiving materials, such as an MES, MRP or ERP.

Cogiscan’s new software for Setup Validation and Traceability for LED Binning was developed to answer a growing need in the electronics manufacturing industry. Due to variations in the manufacturing process, LEDs are sorted by part number as well as LED color and binning. This additional complexity is managed by a TTC system that is closely integrated with the SMT placement machine.

Cogiscan Co-President, André Corriveau explains, “We are excited about the new products that will be introduced at Productronica. We expect a very good response because the European market is a natural fit for our Track, Trace and Control solutions. We have already won several major projects in Europe this year and we expect this trend to continue. We will have a presence in the pb tec booth, and as always, a complete IFS-X2 demo in the Juki booth.”
