In electronics manufacturing, connectivity is the foundational element to establish any Industry 4.0 or factory digitalization initiative. Without connectivity, it is impossible to collect and share accurate and real-time data from the production floor. These data are the lifeblood for any type of software algorithm, ranging from the simplest KPI dashboard or traceability report to the most advanced closed-loop feedback system using advanced analytics and artificial intelligence. No matter the extent of the smart factory dream, every electronics manufacturer needs connectivity.
To ensure that electronics manufacturers can successfully achieve their smart factory goals, regardless of their production type or size, Mycronic partnered with Cogiscan to co-develop MYPro Connect. This software solution enables Mycronic’s SPI, AOI, jet printing, and placement equipment to dialogue with any enterprise system (MES, ERP) using IPC-CFX communication protocol. Designed for plug-and-play deployment, MYPro Connect is a lightweight, small footprint solution with no added infrastructure required.
It’s not always easy for machine vendors like Mycronic to provide holistic connectivity solutions across the factory as most electronics manufacturers have disparate and autonomous machines from a variety of vendors. To help overcome this major hurdle of providing custom integrations, Mycronic leveraged Cogiscan’s flexible and modular factory connectivity solution to ensure compatibility to IPC-CFX.
